In a class of drugs called steroids. Reduces swelling and decreases the body’s immune response. Used to treat endocrine (hormonal) disorders when the body does not produce enough of its own steroids. Also used to treat many immune and allergic disorders such as allergic reactions skin reactions arthritis bursitis tenosynovitis psoriasis asthma ulcerative colitis and multiple sclerosis. Do not use triamcinolone if a serious bacterial viral or fungal infection is identified. Triamcinolone weakens the body’s immune response and its ability to fight infection.
